The Mitre Top 25 is a shortlist of the 25 most dangerous software weaknesses provided by the CWE (community based) project. It is created by the CWE team, which analyzes CVE vulnerability data provided by the Mitre corporation to calculate scores for CWE weaknesses based on a combination of their prevalence and severity. The known CWE weakness with the highest 25 scores make the list.
